IRERS 2014 : Research Clinic
In conjunction with IRERS 2014, INSPEN is pleased to invite postgraduate students and researchers to have a session with our collaborators and experts to discuss matters relating to your thesis or research project. IRERS 2014 : Poster Competition
Poster competition has been introduced since IRERS 2012. This competition creates an opportunity and recognition for researchers to display their research in poster format. There will be an award presentation for top three posters selected by independent juries.
Guidelines and eligibility:
Eligibility criteria
- The competition is open to parallel session presenters, IRERS participants, academicians, students and industry players in real estate.
- The poster has NOT previously been published or presented.
- Participants can submit more than one poster. Each poster represents one topic ONLY.
- Participants are required to attend and be prepared to answer questions from juries during the Poster Session on 28 April 2014 (9.00am – 10.30am) in the Exhibition Gallery.
Poster size and format
- Poster size: Vertical A1 size [841mm (Height) x 594mm (Width)].
- All text on the poster must be written in English.
Poster contents
- Must have the Name of Event, Logo of IRERS, JPPH and INSPEN on the TOP of the poster.
- You are free to design your poster or you may use the templates which had been prepared by the organiser as in the website.

IRERS 2002 - 2014
INSPEN, the training and research Institute of the Valuation and Property Services Department (JPPH), Ministry of Finance Malaysia, is the host for International Real Estate Research Symposium (IRERS). This conference collaborate with several international universities and property organisations such as Royal Institution of Surveyors, Malaysia (RISM), University of Western Sydney, Australia, University of Reading, United Kingdom, University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, and Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
IRERS 2002 is the Malaysia’s first international symposium on real estate research. IRERS 2002 was conceived out the awareness that the real estate industry must embrace research and development (R&D) as a way forward. IRERS is a platform for researchers to present their papers and findings on real estate research. IRERS has never been intended to replace, but rather, to complement similar efforts already in place in the Asia-Pacific region. IRERS provides an important platform for local and foreign researchers to leverage on their respective strengths and seek opportunities for greater networking as well as promoting smart partnership.
IRERS 2004 is following the success of the debut of International Real Estate Research Symposium (IRERS) 2002. Over 40 papers were presented on various facets of real estate by researchers from 10 countries during the symposium. There are 26 local presenters and 21 international presenters in IRERS 2004.
IRERS 2006 was successfully held on 11-13 April 2006. A total of 53 papers were presented consisting of 47 parallel papers and 6 plenary papers. The increasing numbers of papers received and presented since IRERS 2002 to IRERS 2006 is very encouraging.
IRERS 2008 continues the success of previous IRERS. The increasing numbers of papers received and presented is very impressive. The wide range of papers presented has been grouped into 16 categories and it show that real estate research is very broad and encompass many area. Participation in IRERS were overwhelming with more than 200 local and international delegates attended.
IRERS 2010 was successfully held on 27 – 29 April 2010. A total of 56 papers were presented during the symposium. IRERS 2010 has introduced new discussion and learning session which called Research Clinic and it has been very beneficial to Master and PhD students.
IRERS 2012 was held on 24 – 25 April 2012. It was a first time being held in our own campus. Besides research clinic, IRERS 2012 has introduced new poster competition for the researchers to display their research in poster format. IRERS 2012 was a success when it received overwhelming responses and great feedbacks from the participants and collaborators.
For the first time in its series, IRERS 2014 have joint together with International Business Information Management Association (IBIMA) to bring together the scientific communities and practitioners in these fields at the same time and in one place to foster communication, cooperation and cross-disciplinary exchange of ideas related to real estate and allied subjects.
IRERS 2014 introduce Real Estate Forum discussing on Unlocking the Potential of Real Estate and IRERS 2014 Conference Sessions bring various sessions such as Parallel Sessions, Academia Sessions and Industry Sessions. IRERS 2014 Industry Session or known as Intellectual Discourse discussing on the themes such as Intellectual Property - Implementation, Issues & Challenges in Malaysia and Sharing Session on Intellectual Property and Green Construction Industry - National & Global Challenges and Sharing Session on Green Construction.
